9ct Gold, Antique, Kidney Bean Lucky Charm, with Lucky Pearl Shamrock

This is a beautiful and rare 9ct gold lucky bean charm which features some additional luck via its stunning seed pearl three leaf clover (shamrock) flower on its front.

Measuring approximately 1.7 cm x 0.8 cm wide, it weighs 0.97g.

Unfortunatly, the hallmarks have been more or less rubbed away, but the 9ct gold mark is just about distinguishable.  Having had similar charms previously, I would date this one to the later 1910s.

This wonderful antique charm which would look wonderful on a chain around the neck or attached to a charm bracelet.

Many hundreds of years ago, it was believed that carrying a shamrock was lucky and even thwarted evil spirits.  It was said that St Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity, with each leaf representing the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
