9ct Gold and Silver Emerald and Diamond Crescent Pin/Brooch

This is a beautiful antique 9ct Gold Emerald and Diamond crescent moon Pin/Brooch. Alternating 7 diamonds and 8 emeralds, in ascending and descending size, sit on a silver face, with a 9ct gold back and pin. 

This antique piece remains in wonderful condition with all the stones well set and in good shape.   The entire crescent measures 2.3cm and it weighs 4.64g.

Crescent moons have a lot of symbolism attached to them and in Victorian times, were representative of the changing of the seasons in one's life.  They were often worn at the time of a marriage or after a new addition to the family.
