1960s Vintage, Silver and Wood 'Touch Wood' Leprechaun, Good Luck Charm, Hallmarked ST SIL

This original 1960s 'Touch Wood' Lucky Charm, steeped in symbolism, was a lucky find. Crafted in the form of a silver and wooden Leprechaun, and hallmarked ST SIL, this wonderful Leprechaun features a wooden belly on which one 'touches wood' to deter bad luck or misfortune. Irish folklore has long held Leprechauns as lucky - with their little sack of gold that they have collected from the end of the rainbow.

Beautiful and detailed engraving covers the silver, with lovely texture to the Leprechaun's beard, and minute detail down to his shoes, his bag and club. The entire charm remains in excellent condition.

This sweet lucky Leprechaun measures 2.1cm long by 1.3cm wide. It weighs a healthy 5.06g.
