18ct Gold, Diamond and Ruby Antique Pansy Ring

This is an extremely pretty, Victorian (circa 1899) 18ct gold ruby and diamond ring.

It features 5 claw set pink rubies, cut as petals, surrounding a central old cut diamond, all displayed in a romantic pansy flower design.

The face of the ring measures a healthy 6.5mm x 6.5mm, providing good finger coverage. The band is crafted from 18ct gold and includes wonderful and intricate scrolling detail on the shoulders which include what look like X's (possibly meant to be kisses?!) This type of quintessential detail representive of the Victorian age is what makes antique rings like this one so unique and special.

Although it no longer bears its date mark, the style, stones and gem cuts used demonstrate that it is likely to be have been made in the late victorian era.

Condition: This ring is in excellent condition with only light surface marks that are consistent with age.  It weighs 1.55g and is hallmarked for 18ct Gold. It is currently a UK size N, which is a US size 6 3/4.
