18ct Gold, Antique Diamond Keepers (Kiss) Ring. 5.22g

This is such a pretty and unusual antique ring.  Crafted in 18ct gold and engraved with a beautiful double cross design, this Victorian ring features a tiny diamond at its centre.

This rather unusual ring is,  a 'keepers ring', or a 'kiss' ring, a wonderful example of antique sweetheart jewellery.  

Currently a UK size L which is  US size 5 3/4, this striking ring is fully  hallmarked for 18ct Gold, London and the year 1888.  As you can see from the photos, time has allowed the most beautiful patina to develop on the gold. It weighs 5.22g and measures 7mm at its widest point on its face, and 5mm at its thinnest point at the back of the band.
