15ct Gold, Victorian, Almandine Garnet and Peidot Acorn Earrings

This is an exquisite pair of 14ct Gold Acorn earrings, deriving from the Victorian Era.

Beautifully chased from top to bottom, each unique earring features three acorns; two with almanine garnet gems, and one with a bright green peridot gem.  

the earrings measure 4.2cm x 1.8cm and have a 2cm hang. All the gems are well matched and are oval cut, measuring approximately 5mm x 6mmm.  The total weight of the earrings is 6.33g.

Being the seeds of an oak tree, acorns symbolised fertility and new beginnings, so may have been presented to a new wife, or expectant mother.
