It opens via a clasp at the side to reveal an oval locket compartment which comes right out of the gold sleeve. It then rolls back into its sleeve and can be closed securely. That said, i believe it is 'Front and Back' To be more specific; this means that the front and back are curated in 15ct gold but there is a metal frame on the inside keeping the actual locket strong.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis special antique locket still has its original frames and covers so is ready to hold your own photos. It measures 1.5cm x 2cm and it weighs 3.77g.
